Moving from PC(Linux) to Pi?

I’ve been running OH2 in a VM but this weekend when my server went down I realized that I don’t want my house to shutdown with it. What’s needed in order to move my instance from a linux instance to a pi instance?

Because a Pi is also Linux (Raspbian/Debian) based, you should be good doing a normal backup and restore:

And you should think about booting from an USB SSD, sometimes the SD cards are not very reliable.

Update December 2017: This tutorial is outdated. With newer version of Raspbian you can install an USB SSD the same way as a sd card. A lot of openHAB users are concerned about the reliability of sd cards.
