MQTT for 2.x

Is there any active work going on to build a 2.x version of the MQTT binding? I noticed that over at MySensors, it seems like someone has created a binding, which may be either just adopted and integrated, or “matured”. I don’t know the author of that binding (Tim0 at MySensors), but if anybody does, maybe someone could ask if his work could be contributed into OpenHAB? (https://forum.mysensors.org/topic/8201/openhab-2-2-binding-mqtt-support)

Obviously, the current MQTT binding works well, but moving it to the 2.x standard, with “things” and autodiscovery through Paper UI would improve usability quite a bit. MQTT is among the last few pieces that are still done by text files in my setup.

Yes. It’s coming soon, in the last stages of testing, I believe.
