My idea to upgrade safe from 3.2 Raspberry 3B to 4.0 Raspberry 4

Hi, i want to upgrade my well running OH3 (Openhabian) on a Rpi 3 to a OH4 Rpi 4
First i have backup with Cli and also a complete image from the SD Card. Done
One Idea: Now i want to select a bullseye image from openhabian for a Rpi 4 where i can load my old backup. And from this step upgrade to OH4.
Other idea: At first upgrade my runinng system step by step to 3.4. And then backup and find a openhabian with aloud to load my backup.

Have someone a good way for me?

I went also from a Pi3B to Pi4.
I followed the instructions here
Especially the part " Reinstalling openHABian on Raspberry" helped me a lot.
