Given that my Nest thermostats are about to become wholly useless, I was wondering 1) whether the DFU exploit from 2014 still worked (has anyone tried it recently?) and 2) whether anyone has succeeded in obtaining local control of the thermostat with it. Apparently an SSH server is installed, but I’m not sure how you would use it.
