Newbie issue: ZW4009 is an Unknown Device

I have setup OpenHAB using the provided image file on A Rpi 4. I have the zwave binding installed and am using an ACC-UZB3-U-STA usb zwave stick. have 2 devices, the first is an older lamp dimmer and HA03 and it works great!

The second is an Enbrighten (Jasco) ZW4009, and I cannot get it to work.

It will add to OpenHAB and I get an XML config file:
openhabian@openhabian:/var/lib/openhab/zwave $ cat network_dc673b43__node_4.xml (xml below).

As far as I can tell the device is in the list of supported devices in the database here: OpenSmartHouse Z-Wave Device Database

Unfortunately, its stays an “Unknown Device”.

I have tried a bunch of “unplug it and plug it back in” sort of steps (removing the device and re adding it, uninstalling the binding and reinstalling it, moving the pi closer, etc), but no luck.

Reading on the forum it seems possible that I have an old version of the database, but I can’t figure out exactly how to tell what devices are in the local database, and I thought that reinstalling the binding would get me the current database anyway.

Any help would be appreciated, TIA.

Welcome to OH forum

There was some Zwave DB editing that left that device unknown around the time of the 4.0.3 release. The simplest option is to go to OH4.1M2. Set openhabian to use to the Testing OH version (not the testing openhabian version.)
See this: Jasco zWave switch working but no channels - Hardware / Home Automation - openHAB Community

Fyi- look under the Help & About → Technical information

That worked, thank you!

For posterity - I used this guide to figure out how to update openhab:
How to update OpenHab(ian) in a safe way » The smarthome journey

My menu was slightly different than the guide but similar enough and I ended up using the latest snapshot as my source.

It is a little dated, (i.e folders no longer are openhab2, just openhab and I think the openhabian menu is a little different) but hey ! it worked right?

I think the testing milestone (M2 currently) would have also had the file you needed and those are a little more stable than snapshots as a rule, but again, working!
