Here is my solution for temp sensor
BME180 hooked to D1mini
plugs into phone charger no stupid batteries
program it with ESPHome which has an openHAB binding
The BME180 used to be 3 for $9 before chip shortage. Now they are $7- $8 but the D1minis are like $3 or $4
