Onkyo Binding works, but generates TONS of errors in log

  • Platform information: openhabian OH2.1 RazBerryPi3

  • Issue of the topic: Onkyo Binding now all works, but makes tons of Log errors

My Onkyo Binging worked well the first time I set up Openhabian (however I never checked any logs as I dod not know where to find them). I decided to make a clean install as my rules were not working. After new setup and some help in forum my rules now work very nicely.

I had some issue to get the Onky Bining back to work. Initially it worked, the showed initializing, then offline. It was not working at all. I have removed things, binding, and even cleaned out the Json(s) files of all Onkyo entires as it was still logging errors with no Thing or item! Tried again, no luck.

Then I have changed the Onkyo from wired LAN to WLAN. An I could configure and control the Onkyo reciever. So far so good. But my openhab.log file is totally cluttered overnight with this

Any ideas?

Again - all function works!!! On, Off etc pp…

when I just controlled the Onkyo this came up

def-3a09e8b9e158:zone1#input', because no thing with the UID 'onkyo:TX-NR626:5fb0e63a-e8e6-3ab9-3def-3a09e8b9e158' could be found.

Any help- it is much appreciated… Probably something very basic- I am total newbe… sorry for asking a lot of questions.

But I am sort of happy my Zwave stuff now works, and my rules control my Warmwater circulation etc. and my Receiver works, for WAF this is important. She doesnt look at log files :joy:

I don’t know this binding but this is a clear networking error. I suspect the problem is for whatever reason your Onkyo is falling off the network occasionally.

Thanks for replying!

The error suggest that- but why are commands working immedeately, even if it just logged a network error.
So it does reach it- but still logs happily errors ?!?

This seems wrong. I think it is still trying to connect via the route that did not work previously.

It even logged those network errors when I had all Onkyo Things, items, and even all ONKYO entries in the JSON files removed. It must be still somewhere registered. This already puzzled me when before I tried it again with WLAN, where it now works.

But I dont know where else that is registered…again I am a starter on OpenHAB. It seems the config files and Paper UI have their own little life …

Hello, I think I found it!

Solution was to go to Karaf console

ssh -p 8101 openhab@localhost

PW habopen

smarthome:items clear

this fixed it…

Help please . . .

I’ve been running the Onyko binding for 4 months and I really want to resolve this continuous error in my logs.

I have 2 Onkyo’s and I only use them to detect if power is on or not; very basic.

Does anybody have a new build of the binding that I can get the JAR from you?

I’m running the version 2.3 on a Synology.

Best, Jay

These error still exists for OH 3.2m5 for the Onkyo binding.
