I’ve to read about the foundations goals in more details, etc - but I think there is an overlap with our own interests (e.g. we support HomeAssistent).
Not sure if it makes sense to elaborate if a kind of collaboration, or association would make sense. I am not the person to do this - and I do not know if we have someone invested in those kind of things … but I wanted it to mention:

The Open Home Foundation seems actually deeply integrated with Home Assistant.
But their github (they have several) is indeed wider than this.
I will only speak about a subject that have my interest: they cover a wide area of “vocal assistant” related project, that can totally live independently, and can be plugged into.
I think openHAB could benefits from their work in this area.
For example, the ESPHome protocol they manage seems the way to go. There is already a binding in openHAB (but it doesn’t support audio source/sink, yet).
They also supported (created?) the Wyoming procotol, and I was working on an openHAB binding for this, but it seems the ESPHome protocol is taking more and more place.
