Hi. I just wanted to ask when OpenHAB 2.1 will be available via the Debian apt repositories (stable or testing)? I would like to upgrade my installation, especially since the new stable version 2.1 was already released in June 2017. But up to now this stable release is only available as zip and I don’t really want to switch from my apt installation to a manual one, especially since http://docs.openhab.org/installation/linux.html#manual-installation is still recommending the installation via apt.
After wondering about this fact I started to search a bit in the apt repository and I found a 2.1.0 directory in https://dl.bintray.com/openhab/apt-repo2/pool/main/ which is not linked in the package index files (Packages). Did someone just forgot to link it there or is it not yet stable to use?
My server is running debian and I made a fresh oh2 install a week ago using stable branch and i got 2.1.0 release version. Followed steps in that document you linked. Sounds weird that you still have such old version. Does updating through apt-get make any difference?
On the other hand I first tried the testing branch and it got me in 2.0.0-rc1. So some kind of version controll seems to be a bit off.
@Udo_Hartmann
Thanks for your link. The repository you posted indeed provides the 2.1 for armhf (ARMv7). However, to stay compatible to my current openhab2 installation I prefer to stay with the official repository (if it’s still maintained).
The 2.1.0 package is missing (unintentionally) from the testing repository and I am looking to add this in as soon as I can.
The snapshot repository @Udo_Hartmann mentioned is an official one and contains an identical package (with signatures) to the one found in bintray, but if you’re looking for the stable release then you should use:
deb https://dl.bintray.com/openhab/apt-repo2 stable main
