openHAB 5.0.1 locking up every month + my temporary remote OH4 solution

Hi

I managed to get to the remote cabin on one sunny day and i got OH5 up and runing in 5 minutes by restarting to gain access and upgrading to 5.1.2 and it seems to work now.

Nothing is proven still, but cpu load is really low like 0.2 and it does not spike now.

I have 8G ram and 1.5G was used at start.

I see that ram usage climbed to 3GB in a week, but i see no obvious errors.

I will add some logs and diagnostics later here if i see that ram ussage continues to rise suspecting lika a mem leak.

Its under observations now.

And for the first time in 4 years power company bricked my ESP8266 devices.

In january their maintenance was to upgrade some powerlines. And they managed to turn power on so badly that it probaby flickered and ESPs are not on UPS, as they are built in tasmota smart plugs, relays and measurement gear so they went in zombie mode, not conecting to wifi.

The OH server, Pi4 MQTT and router are on DC UPS tho and they lasted over 4h power outage no problem at that day.

I supose i need a power on delay contactor or like under/over voltage protection relay with delayed start to solve the flicker issue in future.

What are the thaughts on the real power solution.

Also posibly a remote restart feature for a server and power for ESPs would be smart right?

Any reliable ideas appriciated.

Cheers

Matej

Hi everyone

I can certainlly say now that OH 5.1.2 is now running smoothly since i upgraded it on Feb 20.

I can sum up that the reason was a bug in older 5.0.1 that was eating RAM and went into system lockup.

Now i can finally let it run and relax:smiley:

Meanwile at home i have a complete rebuild, everything out and one by one new MQTT integrations in.

Cheers Matej
