Please discuss openHAB 5.3 SNAPSHOT related stuff here.
I tried installing it over my 5.2 install and OH would not start. RPi5 4Gb. Restarted and rebooted, removed rules and sitemaps but no go. Reverted to 5.2 and it started but Zwave would not start. uninstalled and reinstalled Zwave and all is back to normal. Happy to do it again if you tell me what you want to see. Same thing happened when I tried to update to 5.2 M5 but that time I was able to get M5 running. With 5.3 I could never get to the web interface to try and reinstall Zwave.
Any logged error messages would be very helpful. Otherwise, we have no idea what went wrong. It’s not the case that it is “universally broken”, because I’m running a version of “5.3 snapshot” right now. Also, stating which snapshot you tested would be helpful.
No clue what version, I tried it yesterday, told Openhabian-config to use the snapshot. I’m somewhat a novice, so if you tell me which logs, I’ll try this again. I’ll also try uninstalling Zwave before a second try update as it always seems to cause problems for me.
I don’t have all the details when you use openHABian in my head, so I’m sure there’s somebody here more suitable to give you an exact recipe. But, the point is that nobody, neither you nor we, learn anything from it, if we have no indication other than that “it didn’t work”.
I don’t know where what you need is located. The only log I know of is the one in the log viewer and it seemed to contain nothing useful.
If it is OH zwave, put the zwave binding in debug. In settings, go to addon settings, scroll to zwave andclick debug. There is a debug viewer here. https://opensmarthouse.org/utilities/logviewer/zwave/ . Paste into it. Generally green is good and red is bad
