openHAB cloud connector is not working

Hello everybody,

I can’t get my Cloud Connector to work. I installed the addon via the Paper UI and then created an account on openhab.org. There I entered the UUID and the Secret as described in the manual. But the status is still offline. I have de- and installed it several times and deleted and recreated my openhab.org account several times. Unfortunately no improvement. Then I gave it up for a few months. And now I tried it again, but come to the same result. Does anyone have an explanation or an idea how to fix it? I would be really grateful!

I want to use my Google Assistant to control devices via openHAB via voice. Unfortunately you can’t avoid the openHAB cloud… :frowning:

Many Greetings

Which java version do you have installed.

I’ve installed Zulu JDK V 192 manually via this tutorial: HowTo: Install Zulu Embedded Java on Raspberry Pi 3 - #47 by Benjy

The Log shows the following:

Is that an actual log? Sounds old to me.
Is the Zulu version a Java 8 one? openHAB is known not to work on Java 9 and Java 10.

I have openJDK 1.8.0 192 installed, so I think it’s Java 8. Zulu Version is 8.33.0.134

No it’s a log from febuary, when I tried it the first time. This is the log from today:

To you see any problems there?
Thanks!

Actually I don’t see any problem.

Too bad

Do you know any other options to provide the openHAB API to the Google Assistent? Without the need of a custom cloud running on some linux server?

Or do you know an alternative to openHAB with the same or similar features and freedom than openHAB? (and with a working cloud connection)?

Most of my devices are from Devolo and using Zwave, so I could use the devolo Home Control Central Unit, but there a do not have the many possibilities than with openHAB :frowning:

The cloud connection via myopenhab.org is working, for me and lots of others.
You are using this one and not your local instance of a cloud, please confirm.
Please provide more detail what is not working for you.

Yes I’m using https://myopenhab.org/ for the connection.

Please provide more detail what is not working for you.

The connection is not working. My openHAB is offline on the myopenhab-cloud-account-site.

What I’ve done:

  1. PaperUI → Add-Ons → MISC → openHAB Cloud Connector (misc-openhabcloud-2.4.0) → Install

  1. Go to https://www.myopenhab.org/ and Login → Account → Update UUID and secret

→ Still offline…

Is there ANYTHING else I have to do? E.g. port forwarding at router?

My settings:

  • AVM Fritzbox Router 7940 connected via DSL
  • Country: german
  • IPv4 & IPv6
  • Raspberry Pi 3 with openhabianpi 2.4.0
  • Connected via Ethernet

I do not have any item exposed, switching from a remote device is still possible.
I do not see any reason why your openHAB instance should not be online

ok thats very sad… Maybe then I should give Devolo a change.
Thanks anyway!

I’ve today installed the windows version of openHAB, running on localhost on my workstation PC. And from there I got a working connection to the myopenhab cloud service. So I think, the router should not be the problem…

But why is this not working for my Raspberry Pi, too? Do anyone have experience with the RP3, openHAB and the cloud?

My instance of openHAB is running on a Raspi 3B. Everything running smooth.

What Java version are you running on?

penjdk version “1.8.0_152”
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (Zulu Embedded 8.25.0.76-linux-a
arch32hf) (build 1.8.0_152-b76)
OpenJDK Client VM (Zulu Embedded 8.25.0.76-linux-aarch32hf)
(build 25.152-b76, mixed mode, Evaluation)

As posted before, I see no reason why it doesn’t work for you. If you managed to get it working from the windows installation, you must be doing something different on the raspi.
