Openhab3 install Things suddenly missing

I have a openhab 3 install. was working fine, apart from a white screen error on loading.
I restarted. and Suddenly all of my things are missing.

I dont have a backup. What can cause this?

My items, and model is still populated. but nothing is happening when i turn switches on and off.

Sorted by restoring Things file in jsondb/backup to jsondb.
Sorry for the hassle
