Openhab3 stopped running on RasberryPi

The last thing I see at startup:
4.099456] —[ and kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(179,2) [—

A kernel panic is like the Blue Screen of Death on Windows or Beach Ball of Doom on Mac. It’s the operating system crashing.

In short, this has nothing to do with OH. The problem is much deeper than that.

If you are lucky, it’s just that your SD card has gone bad or corrupted. Restore a backup to a spare SD card and you should be fine.

If you are not lucky, the hardware on your RPi is bad.

If you don’t have a backup, you’ll have to start over.
