openHABian 1.7.x release announcements

openHABian 1.7.2 was released on January 27, 2022. It is primarily a release to solve issues with Java installs. Zulu is no longer the default Java provider for openHABian, for a myriad of reasons, instead the default openJDK provided by Debian in the package repository will be installed.

This topic will contain future patch releases in the openHABian 1.7.x line of releases. And then if/when openHABian 1.8 or future new minor/major versions are released they will be announced in a new thread to help keep a better organization of announcements.

openHABian 1.7.3 was released on March 29, 2022. It is primarily a cumulated set of bug patches and contains no major changes.

openHABian 1.7.4 was released today June 27, 2022 in time to sync with openHAB 3.3.

Noteworthy changes since last image release:

EVCC Electric Vehicle Charge Controller and Zigbee2MQTT added as optional components
Raspberry Pi OS 64bit is now supported

Released 1.7.4b, essentially just some bugfixing.

Happy to announce that the openHABian image is now offered as an option in Raspberry Pi imager!

If you like openHABian or benefit from it, please check if you can contribute to any of these issues we’re looking for help on.

It’s all stuff that we need external expertise in for specific questions.

openHABian 1.7.5 was released today Dec 18, 2022 just in time to sync with openHAB 3.4.
