That depends on how you configure Mosquitto and the other clients, it’s wrong as a generalized statement. So speak for yourself only, please.
Definitely my personal perspective and no generalization wanted!
In case this is who it is read: Of course just my personal opinion to consider the spread of services over different HW as an additional aspect. This does not say anything about mosquitto on openhabian in principle at all.

Is there a fix in the meantime? I have updated to “bullseye” and receive basically same errors as above.
I tried to remove via apt and reinstall via openhab-config but returned error. Manual installation via apt works fine, but i get the pid file error. Therefore i did as supposed here however no change. Mosquitto runs in local mode if started manually but not for remote connections.
UPDATE: after using sudo apt purge mosquitto && sudo apt purge mosquitto-clients
reinstalltion of mosquitto via openhab-config was working fine.
