As well as RGB (non-W) lights this also adds effects. You’ll need to delete existing things and re-add them to get the effects channel to appear. Documentation is in the README that is shown when you click/tap the entry in the binding Addons list in PaperUI. There’s also an example of how to create your own customizations in the downloads directory above if you want to waste a few hours (although you may have to also read the source code!)
Is the a kind of heartbeat to the gateway?
I had the problem that it showed as online but commands didn’t reach the gateway.
I had to restart the binding to get it working again.
I’ve not seen these problems myself. Does anything get logged? Could you try turning logging up to DEBUG when you have a problem and see if that shows anything?
I installed the binding and the gateway comes up immediately however the status remains as below. Any thoughts on what I could have done wrong? I am using binding v2.4.0 and lightify gateway v1.5.1.0.

Hello,
I have the problem every several hours the binding stops working. On habpanel or basicui it looks right. I switch the light on und the changed in habpanel to on but the bulb will not go on. I think that it is since update to openhab 2.5.8. Stopping the lightify gateway thing and restart repairs the mistake for some hours. Here is the trace of the moment when the binding stops:

This is my first post here. My english ist from 1970, I hope you understand me. What may I do to correct the problem?
Hello specialists,
4 days without a brake, and now it happens again. In openhab log, the last entry was at 10 o`clock in the morning. The 16 o’clock entry gone.
’ 2020-09-16 10:17:23.264 [INFO ] [sages.LightifyGatewayFirmwareMessage] - osramlightify:gateway:017baf0a: firmware version = 1.7.0.0’
Here is my solution…
Caveats: Lightify service has been announced to be ceasing operations 2021/08/01
This is the number one reason for the below suggestion… abandon the Lightify Hub NOW while you still can… you may be unable to once they go offline.
I used https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GJ826F8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 GoControl CECOMINOD016164 HUSBZB-1 USB Hub
It provides a Zigbee and ZWave hub combined.
Unpair your Osram/Sylvania Lightify bulbs and or switches from the lightify. Follow the instructions to pair the bulbs but instead of using the lightify app or hub, use the Zigbeee controller and Zigbee plugin to find the devices. Now configure your Things and Items in Open Hab as normal… Now you can disasemble the Lightify Hub as it is an electronic puck with no use.
