OwnTracks binding with http mode?

Hi, can i also use OwnTracks binding with http mode or can i only use it with mqtt mode and so i have to set up a mqtt broker?

Or can i directly send http commands from android owntracks software to an item inside my openhab? Without owntracks-binding?

I´m on OH2.

Plus one for this question. Owntracks advises to use the http mode with Android 6 or higher. But the binding appears to focus on mqtt.

As far as I can tell, the so-called “http mode” is not supported by mqttitude.
