I was inspired by the interest and kind words from @Billmans to do a little bit more work on the python script. No clue when these features will show up in the OpenHAB plugin, but now you can tinker with the glow settings on the lightpad using my python script at https://github.com/mikenemat/plum-probe.
Here are the new features:
–glow_force GLOW_FORCE
Force the glow on for an amount of time WITHOUT
persisting the color. MUST be in the format
INTENSITY,TIME,R,G,B,W. Intensity=0-100,TIME=SECONDS,R
=0-255,G=0-255,B=0-255,W=0-255 example --glow_force
100,20,255,0,0,0 to force the lightpad to glow red at
full brightness for 20 seconds
–glow_timeout GLOW_TIMEOUT
Set the glow timeout (how long the glow stays on after
a motion event, value must be in seconds
–glow_intensity GLOW_INTENSITY
Set the glow timeout, value must be an integer 0-100
–glow_color GLOW_COLOR
Set the glow color. MUST BE IN THE FORMAT --glow_color
R,G,B,W with R,G,B,W standing for Red,Green,Blue,White
respectively, values 0-255 for each. WARNING: Certain
values like 255,255,255,255 seem to disable the glow.
Set it back to 255,0,0,0 and verify it is red if you
suspect you passed in a value it didn’t like
–glow_enable Enable glow for the logical load
–glow_disable Disable glow for the logical load
A neat tip: a forced glow will be overwritten by a normal glow event set off by the motion sensor. You can cleverly avoid this by disabling the motion sensor glow using --glow_disable, then forcing a glow using --glow_force. Don’t forget to --glow_enable afterwards to restore the LightPad back to the original behavior if desired!
