I would be glad if someone could advise if there is a possibility to delete old data sets from the dbo4-database via OpenHab command (possibly exec command?). I would like to avoid a data overflow (see e.g. Oversized persistence database causing slow openHAB startup) but to still keep recent data without deleting the complete set.

Some very brief Googling seems to indicate that there is not a generic utility to accomplish this. Someone could write a quick program that can delete anything older than a certain date which appears to be pretty easy to do. But there is no utility I know of right now that will do this for you.
