Problem running ZigBee binding

So probably this version is too old to include the features required for the new version of the binding. You probably need to update to a newer runtime (eg 2.5M1).

hi,
OK, can I make the update with openhabian-config?

I think so, but I am unfamiliar with openhabian so am not 100% sure what to do there…

You can update to 2,5M1 and then, if needed, use a snapshot zwave binding. That is what I am doing.

hi,
I have now updated but no luck. The same error:
“Status: OFFLINE Node has not completed discovery”
I will try then the zwave binding
So what about the zigbee binding instlled with the script? Shall I deinstall it first?

Do you get the same exception NoClassDefFoundError?

yes, the same error

can it be an issue with java?

@ktams, if you do not have issues with the script, then please open a new topic for discussing the issues you are having with the binding(s).

@ktams I’ve moved this discussion into a new thread as @5iver is right - the discussion isn’t related to the update script at all.

No - it looks like an incompatibility between the binding and the runtime.

What version of OH are you now running? What version does it say when you start the runtime?

Its 2.5.0 M-1 I have upgraded via openhabian-config to testing Version.

But does the console say this? I just want to ensure that the upgrade really worked.

hi,
after loggin in via SSH I see this:

              Welcome to __ _____ ____ _
            ____ ____ ___ ____ / / / / | / __ )(_)___ _____
           / __ \/ __ \/ _ \/ __ \/ /_/ / /| | / __ / / __ `/ __ \
          / /_/ / /_/ / __/ / / / __ / ___ |/ /_/ / / /_/ / / / /

                  openHAB 2.5.0~M1-1 (Milestone Build)

I borrow from a friend a smart+ wall switch.
First same behavior:
‘zigbee:device:04000AD2:7cb03eaa00a78635’ changed from UNKNOWN to OFFLINE: Node has not completed discovery
But after 1 or 2 minutes the wall switch is fully detected and it goes online.
So basically it seems to work
but the java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError still is in the log.

I think this is still too old. 2.5M1 was released on the 20th Jan, and this class was not added to ESH until 31st Jan.

As you see, it may work without this, but some things may not fully function.

hm, ok, what shall I do?

Hi all, I don’t know if I can write here or I have to start a new post.
I make a fresh installation of openhabian on a raspberry.
I added this line on /etc/default/openhab2:

EXTRA_JAVA_OPTS="-Dgnu.io.rxtx.SerialPorts=/dev/ttyUSB0:/dev/ttyS0:/dev/ttyS2:/dev/ttyACM0:/dev/ttyAMA0"

than I installed zigbee binding, installed the CC2531EMK Coordinator. It go Online but I cannot discovery any device.
I tryed with 2.4.1 and with latest snapshot.
I tested the CC2531 dongle some time ago and it worked with a xiaomi double switch, so I think is not a dongle issue.
Now I’m trying with a hue motion sensor model: 9290012607 I cannot discovery it

You would need to run a newer version than 2.5M1 - ie you need to run the snapshot version.

I think you should start a new thread since your issue seems completely different with different dongle
