Just came across this topic while looking for some DuoFern protocol hack.
I’m also evaluating buying a Rademacher RolloTron Basis DuoFern but don’t want another (expensive) controller in my setup.
I wonder how this topic have evolved.
I could understand DuoFern is in the 433Mhz range. It should be easy to copy it unless it has a rolling code, which I doubt. Have anyone meanwhile tried to copy the RF signals with one of those RF remotes that copy signals?
Or maybe with one of those broadlink RM remotes?
When I was researching for this topic it looked like the protocol is encrypted (rolling code?) and could not be “hacked”.
So I do not think there is another solution for this.
But I can tell you this solution has worked perfectly, fast and very very stable for the last 5 years for me.
I only had to re-pair one device after a black out.
I‘m using this solution - it only requires the Rademacher USB stick which will be connected to the Raspberry (I run OH3 on). And some minor local installation of e.g. Python: https://github.com/gluap/pyduofern
