Refresh Things programmatically for a binding?

Short question, how can I refresh existing things via the OH2 API ? My eBUS binding works with dynamic configuration files. So I need to update the exisiting things if the configuration file has changed.

You could take a look at the REST API. I have never tried to manipulate things from this API, but there are some promising descriptions
