UI defined Rules can be enriched with a nice description and Tags, so even with many rules i can easily remember what they do without having to open them. Is there any way to have that information also for file based (Java Style) rules?
No. By Java I assume you mean Rules DSL?
In JS Scripting and I believe also jRuby you can supply the name and description. But in Rules DSL you cannot supply the description, just the name.
And to avoid confusion it is important to get some of these terms correctly.
A sitemap isn’t involved in this question at all. A sitemap is an alternative to MainUI where end users can interact with OH. It will help others it you remove that from the posting title.
