@martinvw I haven’t heard from you in a while. Any update?
Nope life is really busy at the moment, youngest kid is in the hospital, he will be fine but it puts a lot of pressure on the family planning.
Hi everybody. Just to let you know I’m testing with a UE46D6530 and having the same issue. Mute & Volume OK, sourceName & url not working.
I’m not sure if url should be working on my TV.
I’m trying to show a standard website on the TV using the Samsung TV Openhab binding (ex. weatherforecast). If you have any other ideas on how to do so, any help is appreciated.
But this topic is (I hope) about the features which used to work but are breaking down, did it ever work for your TV?
Hi Martin, I just started a few days ago with Openhab. It never worked for me and while searching I found this topic hoping for a solution.
I’m sorry to hear that. No worries.
I’m in the same boat on a QN75Q75FM. Works just fine on all my other Samsung TVs.
Since this binding is currently broken for my UE65JU7005 (Samsung 2015), It gave me a much needed push to extend an IR blaster from my Harmony HUB to the TV. (Harmony Elite remote/HUB) Works fine over a 5m cable spliced twice.
Just a few points for people wanting to try this route:
- prerequisite: no devices can be assigned to the remote. All MUST be assigned to HUB & Blasters.
- it gives you both OFF & ON control.

- OH2 Harmony binding is rock steady, also giving you control of all your other devices.
Doc here. - all changes done from OH2 reflects on the remote and visa-versa.
Based on the logs from @tdlr I assume its because either the television gives a wrong TTL or something related to that has changed. Because for him it worked initially but after some time the tv was removed from the upnp registry. Is this the same problem you have or do you have a different problem?
The binding reports as Online in PaperUI, but when I try to switch off or send a button event, logs show:
2018-02-24 02:03:35.168 [WARN ] [g.samsungtv.handler.SamsungTvHandler] - Channel ‘samsungtv:tv:302e8b62_6927_4292_819a_769ec5c80d00:power’ not supported
2018-02-24 02:04:13.494 [WARN ] [g.samsungtv.handler.SamsungTvHandler] - Channel ‘samsungtv:tv:302e8b62_6927_4292_819a_769ec5c80d00:keyCode’ not support
Does it also behave like that just after the binding / openHAB is started?
And more importantly did it work with openHAB 2.1 or just with 1.8 or with none of them?
Yes, I have been following this thread and tried right after an apt-get update/upgrade to yesterdays snapshot.
I started out with OH2 a year ago, but have been on snapshot almost from day 1. I upgrade on average twice a month.
I am certain it worked during summer 2017, but I only tested it from Paper UI. (at which point I also discovered that it is not possible to turn the TV on again over http)
When I finally came around to include TV off in my rules last Christmas, I found it was no longer working.
So, I cannot tell you exactly when it stopped working.
Anyway, since I also have a Harmony HUB, I just use my HUBs activities instead.
Thanks for your effort so far. It’s not easy keeping all models happy. There are so many out there ![]()
Hey guys, did you finally manage to find a solution for this? I am facing exactly the same issue.
Thanks in advance
Patrick
That is doubtful after 2 years. Please start a new thread. By the way. 2.5 stable version has been released.
