Send command via Stream Deck (Elgato)

Hi,
is there a way to send commands (e.g. a OH-switch on/off) via Elgato Stream Deck to openHAB?
I searched a while, but didn’t find a sollution yet.
Any ideas or workarounds?

I found something with HomeAssistant, but not OH.

Thanks,
best, Kai

yes in the stream deck store theres a free app called MCCONTROL
https://apps.elgato.com/plugins/com.mitchmckean.mccontrol

Ive been using it for a long time but am actually trying to figure out how to use it with RULES, rather than just items

to answer my own question - according to openhab rest api, rules require authentication - but there is a work around I figured out. In openhab, create a string item, a virtual item - if you will. This will hold the state of on or off, then for the rule set the trigger option to when that virtual item changes to ON then do whatever is in the rule, and when that virtual item goes to OFF do what ever in a second rule. OR use one rule with logic to decide what to do when the virtual item state changes to ON or OFF.

Thank you so much, Stan - this was excatly I was searching for!
I installed the plugin and can switch ON/OFF openHAB switches now.

I did this with your workaround and created a virtual iteam as string. But even as switch it was working as well (OH4.1 - so the workaround was not necessary (for me)).

I am happy to control some switched via Stream Deck now
