Siemens (Home Connect) now — thinking about switching to other Wi-Fi machine — any OpenHAB/OpenHub experience?

Hello everyone,

I’ve been using a Siemens bean-to-cup coffee machine for a few years. It has Home Connect support, which — as far as I know — was the only practical way to get a fully integrated coffee machine into OpenHub/OpenHAB at the time I bought it.

Now I’m thinking about replacing it. I’ve noticed that some brands (for example JURA) offer Wi-Fi connectivity (JURA’s “Wi-Fi Connect” accessory) and other machines could be made controllable with a simple button-pusher or a Zigbee relay. I haven’t found much about “Judah” specifically — I suspect I meant JURA. JURA’s Wi-Fi Connect plugs into compatible models and lets you operate the machine via the J.O.E. app.

My questions for the community:
• Has anyone here connected a JURA machine (or any other Wi-Fi enabled machine) to OpenHub/OpenHAB? Any success stories, existing bindings, or custom integrations you can share?
• Has anyone used a physical button-pusher / Zigbee relay to control a coffee machine reliably? Any tips on safety (water/heat), delay handling, or required preconditions (machine must be powered on / lid closed / cup present)?
• Are there other brands/models you’d recommend that are known to work well with OpenHub/OpenHAB (either natively, via Home Connect, or via hacks)?

Thanks in advance — any experiences, links to bindings, or short how-tos would be hugely appreciated!

Cheers,
Franz
