Smart wall plugs without "internet communication"

We are selling the Theengs Plug that does this with MQTT:

And more:

  • Act as a Bluetooth Gateway to retrieve data from more than 80 sensors
  • Be controlled remotely
  • Measure the energy consumption of the plugged device
  • Open Source firmware

Theengs Plug hardware is UL listed with a one-year warranty.
Price: 39.90USD

The plug and the BLE devices use HA autodiscovery convention, which can be adapted for OpenHAB.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with posting about your products and services, but I do think you should disclose when you have a vested interest. This is advertising, not advice.

I also don’t agree with reviving a post that’s more than four years old to advertise.

I like zigbee as it doesn’t need too much configuration and is local network only and also a mesh network.
They are a bit more expensive but you can also have battery powered end devices like temperature and movement sensors and battery life is good.
Also it doesn’t “clog up” your wifi network (yes I know you can have a separate network)

Updated the post, I can remove it if it infringes the rules of the community.

I think you missed what I mean by “vested interest”.

If you’re the person selling the product then it’s best that you say, “I’m selling this product”. Leaving that information out is what makes the post objectionable.
