OH 2.5.5 update to 2.5.8
Openhabian

My first OH update. From 2.5.5. to 2.5.8. I use

sudo openhabian--config

Option 02 - Upgrade system

I recognize no errors so far. But after reboot OH show this in logfile. A lot of bindings are not installed.

Any hint?

Dumb question, are those bindings not installed (not showing on PaperUI) or did you only see this Error message. That later happened to me during update from 2.5.7 to 2.5.8, however al binding got installed finally.

In Paper-UI - AddOns - Bindings I found for example:

Hue Binding binding-hue - 2.5.8 - UNINSTALL

So these bindings are update and installed. The error in log say “… ```
openhab-binding-hue” failed installing

I would scroll down to log and try to find the line that states the binding is installed.

I filterd the logfile with : hue
hue seems no be installed

, whom to believe, PaperUI or the log? You migth get a hint from the question: “Are your HUE things working?”

No, I don’t think so. I have switch (on the wall) on my hue light. I get immediately a lot of error in logfile

I’d try a restart of openhab. Did you read all the release notes for those mutiple update steps you did at once?

Ok, I do a restart again. No I have nothing read about release notes. Like a real beginner, I just started the update in openhabian-config.

After reboot, I get this in log, filtered on: hue

Looks like a problem with HUE, which I am not familiar with. You should consider starting a thread about rhis specific problem.

I don’t think so, there are many failed bindings. As I describe in my first mail. I just pick HUE as an example.

Failed installing 'openhab-binding-http1, openhab-binding-icalendar, openhab-binding-hue, openhab-binding-dwdunwetter, openhab-binding-exec, openhab-ui-homebuilder, openhab-transformation-javascript, openhab-binding-network, openhab-transformation-regex, openhab-transformation-jsonpath, openhab-misc-mqttbroker, openhab-ui-restdocs, openhab-binding-mqtt, openhab-persistence-rrd4j, openhab-transformation-map, openhab-ui-basic, openhab-binding-ntp, openhab-binding-openweathermap, openhab-binding-astro, openhab-binding-systeminfo, openhab-ui-paper, openhab-binding-dwdpollenflug, openhab-transformation-scale': Error restarting bundles:

Clearing the cache is reported to overcome some initial problems, can’t say if it wouöüld help in your case.
I see the restdocs as one off the bindings, at least this one has changed its setup location. If you have the addons installed via a file you migth need to adjust that one ( or leave that part completlyto PaperUI).

The second or third reboot repaired my problem!!
Current all bindings are there.

Deleting the cache would have been the solution (Maybe)

So, thank you!!

No complet fixed, I see my hue dimmer commands, but it don’t work. So I will checked this later.

Fixed for the moment

Thanks!

I had a similar problem with my hue bridge: Log: UNINITIALIZED to UNINITIALIZED (BRIDGE_UNINITIALIZED)

After many attempts i added the hue bridge as a Thing manually and Bingo! It changed to online and the InBox filled up. Dont forget to follow the log to know when to press the button on the physical bridge.
