[SOLVED] How do I upgrade from OpenHAB 2.4 to 2.5 (OpenHabian)?

I have a installation of version 2.4 running on my Pi 3.
Now I want to upgrade to version 2.5.

Links how to do this via commandline (putty) are very welcome.
Kindest regards.

We are here to HELP you. What have you already tried, based on your personal research?

We are not a Help Desk providing complete solutions to customers. We are just a group of helpful volunteers with limited resources.

I’ve already searched the openHAB documentation but didn’t succeed finding how to update an existing stable version to a new one.
Maybe I used the wrong keywords for searching.

Try openHABian is that is what you are using
Perhaps something obvious in sudo openhabian-config ?

Thank you.

I’m backing up and afterwards will have a try with openhabian-config and update/upgrade.

It’s all in the release notes on git:

openHABian

If you are working with an openHABian setup, the upgrade is quite easy. Regardless of if you are currently using the openHAB 2.5 stable release or one of the latest 2.5 SNAPSHOT builds, switching to openHAB 2.5.0 stable is done in just a few steps:

  1. Connect to the SSH command line and execute: sudo openhabian-config
  2. Select the “Update” option
  3. Wait for the openHABian update to finish, reenter the openHABian configuration tool
  4. Select the “openHAB 2.5.0 stable” option

Glad you have it working. :+1:
