[Solved] OpenHab 2.4 Select Profiles from Paper UI

  • Platform information:
    • Hardware: RPi 3B
    • OS: Raspbian GNU/Linux 9
    • Java Runtime Environment: openjdk version “1.8.0_152”
    • openHAB version: openHAB 2.4.0-1 (Release Build)

I read in the 2.4 Release Blog Post about Profiles. These sound awesome and seem like they will simplify a lot of rules.

However, I cannot find a way to access them via Paper UI like the post says. Does it matter that I have ‘Item Linking’ set in simple mode?

To get this to work on my existing items do I need to delete them and re-add them?

Yes. If you are in simple mode then PaperUI will not show any Items.

You will need to turn off Simple Mode. And I’m not certain that PaperUI supports setting profiles yet. I don’t see a field to add one to an existing Item. So you might need to move to defining Items in .items files to take advantage of profiles at this time.
