OctoPrint has changed new-user registration to require moderator approval, due to the same explosion in spam posts that we’re currently experiencing.
Perhaps we should do the same?

I’ve now activated the setting “Minimum amount of time in milliseconds a user must type during first post, if threshold is not met post will automatically enter the needs approval queue.” by setting it to 10000 (i.e. 10 seconds). So if it’s a bot, it is likely faster than that and it will automatically end up in the moderation queue. Any real person hopefully takes more than 10s to write their very first post. Let’s see if that helps a bit!
Thanks, Kai! I am (optimistically) marking this as the solution.
It already caught 3 this morning and has put them in the moderation queue - seems to be working.
