Hi I am slowly linking items to channels in my smart home as I add more functionality on a daily basis.
The one thing I have found it when creating a link from a channel to an item it is best to make the item name and the item label the same.
Why, well it makes it so much easier to locate said item later on when you are adding it to a rule or using it on a screen. This is much easier when name and the label are the same as you do not need to think about it.
So I might want to send a command to my alexa dot, find the thing, go to the channel and link it to an item and since I now make the name and the topic the same I can quickly spot my alexa dot command item.
