Some background and my answer to your question…
On release compatibility
I track openHAB releases and test this binding against the latest stable version. If a stable update ever breaks it, I’ll catch that quickly and provide a fix. Snapshot builds change daily, so I don’t actively chase those, but if someone reports a snapshot or milestone issue, I’ll look into it and see what’s feasible.
On how long a snapshot or milestone break might last
It depends on the nature of the change. Some issues are simple and can be fixed quickly; others require deeper adjustments that only make sense once the next stable release settles. I’ll always do my best to keep the binding functional and respond to reports here.
On why this isn’t part of the core add‑ons
I did submit a PR in the past. It received initial feedback, I made the requested changes, and then it sat for nearly a year without further movement. I’ve had similar experiences with other add‑ons I’ve written. That’s not a complaint—just the reality of how open‑source projects operate:

Maintainers volunteer their time, and reviews happen on a best‑effort basis.

Add‑ons for widely used devices naturally get priority because merging them implies long‑term maintenance.

Vendor‑supported add‑ons tend to move faster because they come with guaranteed ongoing support.
The Marketplace exists partly for this reason: it gives the community a place to share useful add‑ons that may never make it into the core set but still serve real needs.
Why I built and shared this binding
I created this binding to fill a gap in my own setup and shared it so others could benefit. The repository is public, and anyone is welcome to contribute or even champion a PR if they want to push it further. I’ll continue maintaining it here and supporting users as best I can.
I hope this helps set expectations and gives a clearer picture of how support works for Marketplace add‑ons within the openHAB ecosystem.

Having contributed 8 bindings and maintain 2 others, I share your experience with trying to get bindings through the process. For the reasons you mention, it can be a long process, especially with new bindings.
I’m more comfortable now. And, since I tend to run pretty current snapshot releases, I might be the one of the first to notice an issue. If so, I’ll post here.
