Hi all,
I’ve built a test JAR of the MQTT binding with several fixes/features. I’d appreciate feedback from anyone using MQTT rollershutters or the MQTT binding in general.
Download: attached to PR #22071 as org.openhab.binding.mqtt-5.3.0-SNAPSHOT.jar.zip. GitHub doesn’t allow .jar attachments, so rename the file from .jar.zip to .jar after downloading.
What the JAR contains:
| PR | Status | In JAR | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| #22071 | open | yes | Fix STOP echo loop on shared topic (a STOP echoed back on a shared command topic was re-posted and looped forever) |
| #22070 | open | yes (stacked in #22071) | Add upDownCommandTopic to the rollershutter channel (issue #21350) |
| #22068 | open | Yes | Apply formatBeforePublish to rollershutter commands |
| #22067 | merged | in main |
Ensure WaitForTopicValue unsubscribes on every terminal path |
| #22031 | merged | in main |
Add player channel type |
#22065 (TLS client certificate authentication) is also not included.
Installation:
- Uninstall the installed MQTT binding (UI or
openhab-cli), otherwise two versions will be active. - Copy the renamed
org.openhab.binding.mqtt-5.3.0-SNAPSHOT.jarto youraddonsfolder (e.g./usr/share/openhab/addons/). - Restart openHAB or wait until the bundle is picked up.
What to test:
- Rollershutter with a shared command/state topic: UP/DOWN/STOP should no longer loop.
- Rollershutter with the new
upDownCommandTopic: UP/DOWN go to this topic, STOP to thestopCommandTopic. - General: existing MQTT things/channels should keep working unchanged.
Please report your findings here or directly in the PRs. Thanks!
