"The repository does not have a Release file."

I’m trying to migrate from OpenHAB2 to OpenHAB3 using the instructions at Migration to openHAB 3 | openHAB

My OpenHAB2 instance was initially installed manually, but I’m trying to switch to using the repository. I’m on Ubuntu 18.04.

When I add the stable main repository from that link, I get the error:

The repository ‘https://openhab.jfrog.io/artifactory/openhab-linuxpkg stable Release’ does not have a Release file.

What does this error mean? Am I doing something wrong?

Hi @Fug1, what’s inside the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/openhab.list file now?

Hi @Benjy, I followed the instructions in that link for the stable repository, so that file contains:

deb https://openhab.jfrog.io/artifactory/openhab-linuxpkg stable main

Hmm, that’s correct and the same is working for me. Does visiting the link go anywhere for you?

https://openhab.jfrog.io/artifactory/openhab-linuxpkg/dists/stable/

Sorry, my bad. I have an http proxy in my environment, for some reason I need to disable it sometimes…I think it must have something to do with the proxy’s cache. I disabled it and I’m not getting that error now.
