Tuya BLE Irrigation Computer

Hi everyone,

a few months ago I discovered some really cheap irrigation computers at ALDI but was still hesitant to give them a try (https://www.aldi-onlineshop.de/p/bewaesserungscomputer-101021743/). Now it seems that they really want to get rid of their stocks before winter and are selling them in our local store for 6,99€ each. So I finally decided to pick one up today.

I was not surprised to find out very quickly that this is a Tuya device but it has no Wifi but only a BLE connection (which makes sense since it is battery powered).

There are lots of threads on Tuya in the community and also the smarthomej binding for Tuya devices but I’m not sure whether there is a not to complicated option to add Bluetooth based Tuya devices to openHAB?! I found a library for Home Assistant that claims to support an irrigation computer (https://github.com/PlusPlus-ua/ha_tuya_ble) but I’m not so sure about OH. Does anyone use Tuya BLE devices with OH?

My preferred solution would be to use a microcontroller of some sort and connect this via MQTT because my server is probably too far from the irrigation computer and also has no bluetooth module (which I could add, but I don’t have one at home but have lots of microcontrollers). But I would be open for other solutions.

Thank you if you are able to share some insights with me
