Sometime it takes several clicks to open a Group or Equipment box.
Results of clicking on a sensor are unpredictable.
Constant offers to “Move” items is distracting.
Distracting behavior observable on DDG and Safari browsers.
The original model was built using the UI on a 4.3.4 system running on a Mac. The 4.3.4 system was copied to Ubuntu and upgraded to version 5.2.1 in place using update.
Aside from the Model page the upgraded system is up and running. (I probably should have expected some craziness.)
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
(I have an image of the Move dialog but the 240K png upload is hanging. Maybe I can find a way to add it with an edit.)
These are both related to the addition of the ability to drag and drop the various model items to restructure the model. Hit box for expanding any item is just a small square around the expand arrow. Any click, on the arrow or not, that includes some motion between down and up buttons initiates a drag and drop. If you just move a little during the click then the item is dropped back in place so it appears that your click simply didn’t register and additional attempts are needed to actually open the item. If you move enough to drag the item to the one above or below you will get the dialog asking if you want to move that item.
I too find the sensitivity to initialize the drag and drop a little high sometimes. You could file a feature request with the UI repository for a setting to disable the drag and drop or alter its sensitivity, but right now neither of those are possible.
Can you elaborate on what this means? This is not obvious.
If I click on a Point, sometimes the Item will come up in the right panel and I can edit it.
If I click on it again (with no perceptible movement of the mouse) the right panel says “Nothing selected” and displays a list of “Add to Model” selections.
You frame this as a request for a feature modification; I would call it a bug.
