Update from. 4.1.3 to 4.2 not possible

  • Platform information:
    • Hardware: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.2
    • openHAB version: 4.1.3 release build
  • Issue of the topic: no updates realized

I tried to make an update of my system and I am not sure it has been done.
I made update from the ssh console with

sudo openhabian-config

and choosing first 02 | Upgrade System
It went through, service reseted and seems to be working. Unfortunately looking into the oh3 GUI I recognized I am still with old version:

in the ssh console i do not see the version of the OH3 at all:

How can i check if the update was done and how to make an update to the laters 4.2.0 build if the standard way does not work?

I was able to find it out with help of ChatGPT

Now the question why the standard way did not work to update to the latest 4.2.0 build? How to do this safely?

Why the system shows me it is up to date if I see we have a new stable build?
Shout it not autmaticaly upgrade to the latest stable?

4.1.3 is still the latest stable build.

Ups. So I was confused by the OpenHAB Page, than?
Why we have 4.2.0 displayed?
When the new SW is planed to be released?

Thanks for your prompt explenation.

In the screenshot above you see both “Stable (4.1.3)” and “Latest (4.2.0)”. Since it’s possible to use latest 4.2 milestone and snapshot builds, we need to provide documentation for this version.
