Using DSC PIR for motion events while alarm not armed possible?

Hey,

before investing in a DSC based alarm system I want to make sure it makes sense for my use case.

I am relying heavily on PIR events to control my lights etc in the house. I am now considering an alarm system, however I do not want to have multiple PIRs covering the same area, for smart home events and alarm events. So I was wondering if the DSC binding reports PIR triggers which can be subscribed to to turn on lights etc even if the alarm is not armed?

I would want the same to happen with contact sensors as well, however I am assuming that if it works for PIRs it should work for any other sensor as well.

Thanks.

Yup, you sure can use the DSC pirs even when the alarm is not armed.

Can you show me the rule you use to detect motion with the DSC PIR? Thanks!
