I am using my hue lamps and when I switch off the button, it removes the power from the lamp. This means that when I turn it on, it is not immediately reachable.
I have some rules to change the brightness but the thing is that I have put a timer to wait 3 seconds to make sure they are reachable by the bridge before assigning the brightness.
Is it possible to not use a timer (3 seconds can be long each time I press the switch on) but instead having a callback as soon as the bridge is seeing the lamp then it sets the brightness.
On the one hand you can rewrite your rules to rely on the Thing’s state (new with OH2.1)
But maybe it’s better to reduce the polling interval of the hue bridge to get better reactivity:
