I have problems in showing current temperature values from my thermostat or weather sensor in alexa. I use myopenhab to synchronize my items with alexa, and usually everything works well.
I have created items in openhab and assigned Thermostat.CurrentTemperatre as Alexa Metadata.I also tried Other.CurrentTemperature …
The item is displayed in the Alexa app, but either I get an error message (“Etwas ist schiefgelaufen") with a Try Again button, or I see a Thermostat screen with a “-” as current Temperature.
In Openhab, the current temperature is displayed correctly. Some weeks ago it still worked well. Deleting and creating the items again does not help. Does someone have a hint on what I could try to send the temperature values to Alexa correctly?
Unfortunately I have - more or less - the same issue. I used it to provide the current value of my floating energy tariff and it worked like a charm for years. Unfortunately, since a few weeks, Amazon Alexa does not receive any update for this particular value.
I am on OH 4.3.8 and have the same issue. If i set such a value from “nonControllable ON” (read only) to “nonControllable OFF” within OH Alexa metadata, i get a slider in Alexa which can change the values in OH. This is strange and here something is definetely wrong. But it proves that the basic connection between OH and Alexa is working out. Switch items work out normal.
Before i came from OH 3.4.6 were everything worked fine over years. I don’t know who is the owner of the Alexa integration?
