VolvoOnCall not working any longer

Hi @all,

since couple of weeks my VolvoOnCall API thing seems not to work any longer. When enabling the thing the following error message is shown:

COMMUNICATION_ERROR
com.google.gson.JsonSyntaxException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Expected BEGIN_OBJECT but was STRING at line 1 column 1 path $

Anyone else out there, with the same issue? Is the API broken?

I had an email from Volvo about a month ago saying

The API you are using to communicate with your Volvo vehicle seems to be outdated. It could be that you run it through home automation technology or similar.

Unfortunately, this API will be discontinued. At Volvo Cars we are actively developing a new API specifically designed for this issue. Please check our website to keep up to date with the upcoming API and timeline.

Many thanks. How can be initiated, the binding get’s adjusted?

If there is an active maintainer for the binding, I would expect him or her to pick it up, but I’m not sure there is one currently.
If I remember correctly @glhopital did some work on the binding in the past.

Yes, I did but have no Volvo car since more than 3 years - so can’t act on it.
