Whatsapp's API For sending messages/images FREE - Anyone Tried it?

I see with Whatsapp/Meta cloud, its possible to send messages and images to Whatsapp FREE (for the first 1000 messages each month, according to their T&C’s).

Has anyone tried this or got anything already setup with Openhab?

I was thinking I may give it a go and also implement a message counter that resets each month (so you dont go over the 1000 free messages).

Sounds nice. Currently I’m using https://www.callmebot.com/, this also works for free, but with an own API-connection it would be even better.
