I love the IOS app and the Home screen widgets and all users find them invaluable.
The consistent ask is “When was it last updated”
My suggestion is that a configuration option be provided to show or not “either the seconds since last update or an icon (aka LED) red/green - green if updated in the last 15 seconds or not.
Perhaps the options should be -
Show:
- No
- Last update in seconds
- Red/green icon if updated or not in the last seconds (seconds configurable)
Please let me know if this makes sense.

Great to hear that you like the app and the newly introduced widgets.
Just a few thought to your suggestion:
An icon with different colours wouldn’t make much sense, as this would require an additional update to the widgets themselves, in addition to the basic value or switch state updates. The only possible option might be to have timestamps for each widget, but any relevant update intervals would be more realistically counted in minutes not seconds.
We are still trying to figure out the best way to keep the widgets updated as close to real time as possible, as fully real time is not permitted by Apple, to keep system resource in check. It also depends if widgets are on the Home Screen or in the Today View of iPhone, or on the Desktop or in the Sidebar on macOS - with macOS running the Catalyst iPad layout version of the latest iOS TestFlight app.
While not ideal, the surefire way to have ALL widgets on your iPhone have the very latest states, just very briefly open/or bring to front the iOS app, regardless on which view you are, as this updates all widget switches and values instantly.This is easily done by just tapping on the widget and immediately going back to the Home Screen.
