Will Kasa Smart Plug work on Local Network using OH w/Alexa?

Was wondering if the Kasa Smart Plug will work on the local network using Openhab along w/Alexa without requiring a Kasa/TP-Link account or openHAB Cloud account?

Have you had a look to TP-Link Kasa on an internal WiFi network - #7 by waketech ?

Right but I’m wondering if you can control them via Alexa.

For example I have a few Insteon switches and I use HUE Emulation and the Insteon binding to be able to use Alexa to turn them on/off and dim.

I would like to be able to turn the electrical plug on and off with Alexa via a similar method.

The Kasa are on sale and I thought it might be a good fit.
