I was using the stable version and my Zooz ZEN21 switches were working. After the update to latest snapshot to get the new ZEN27 switches working, the ZEN21 switches are now showing Unknown Device. I have updated the device in the database by uploading the xml file. (https://www.cd-jackson.com/index.php/zwave/zwave-device-database/zwave-device-list/devicesummary/718)
Is there anything else I should check?
Just a validation check:
When you go from Z-Wave 2.3.0 Stable to 2.4.0 Snapshot you need to perform some small “migration” steps described here: ZWave binding updates
Did you do this?
I did initially, but now I just did a new install of openHABian and went to the snapshot before installing the z wave binding. This is a new install and so i have been playing around allot and just wanted a fresh install. The ZEN21 devices still show as Unknown Device, while the ZEN27 devices I added to the database earlier today are working properly.
you can try to enable DEBUG log on the binding and check it here: https://www.cd-jackson.com/index.php/openhab/zwave-log-viewer
post it on this thread also
From the OH2 console:
log:set DEBUG org.openhab.binding.zwave
I turned on debug and used the zwave-log-viewer. I didnt’t get much from it due to limited knowledge. But from what I did see, it seems that the devices with ID 027A:B111:1E1C arent being identified. Could something be wrong with that definition in the DB?
2018-11-21 08:40:16.787 [DEBUG] [ding.zwave.handler.ZWaveThingHandler] - NODE 6: Unable to find thing type (027A:B111:1E1C:20.15)
It’s in the database. Not sure why it’s not being identified.
I have found that if I go to the 2.4.0~M6 build, that the ZEN21 switches work fine. But on any of the 2.4.0 snapshot builds they do not. But I think the snapshot builds are all using the same definitions since the ZEN27 switches works on all of them as well. Either there is just one z wave binding that all the snapshot builds use, or since my install had the latest snapshot installed first, it is not downgraded when i downgrade to older snapshot.
EDIT: I found sudo apt-get install openhab2-addons and did some testing. What I found was that these ZEN21 switches worked until the latest snapshot. they are working in Build #1433 and broken in Build #1434.
I think that I accidentally edited the database for these switches when adding the ZEN27. Is there a way this entry can be rolled back in the database? Im not sure what changed and diff doesn’t seem to show anything, but clearly something did.
I’m not sure what happened, but the zwave repo (which is the source from which the binding is built) is showing no changes to the ZEN21 since Sep 8.
