Dear openHAB-Community.
I hope I do not mix everything up what I read in different posts.
Is the Zulu 11 version the openHAB Java Version or shall I need to to install a different Java Version?
In case of need how should I proceed?
Thank you so much
Gerd
You don’t need to install a different version - Zulu works fine.
Up to now Zulu was the recommended version, and is currently still recommended by the documentation:
But this recommendation is changing, and the documentation is effectively outdated. Future versions of the documentation will recommend openJDK.
But Zulu works fine if you already have it installed!

Dear hafniumzinc.
Would you have an recommendation what kind of Linux commands I would need to replace Zulu and install instead the new openJDK
Thank you for prompt reply!
Regards Gerd
Are you having problems with Zulu? If not, my personal recommendation would be not to change.
I don’t know the commands, though I’m sure Google can assist. If not, others can jump in!

Changing from Zulu to an OpenHAB “officially recommended” Java distribution AND doing it correctly will neither help you nor hurt you.
You will NOT improve anything and if you don’t correctly replace your Java distribution, you could give yourself unnecessary problems.
So if you want to take the path with the least risk, don’t change anything.
