My zwave drops about once a week. The only was that I can resolve the issue is to perform a reboot command
sudo shutdown -r now
Is there a way refresh the usb port or zwave controller (zstick) without rebooting?

What ZWave stick do you have (is it an Aeon)? If you have to do a complete shutdown, it sounds like a more serious problem than just the binding.
Yes. It’s a Aeon Labs DSA02203-ZWUS Z-Wave Z-Stick Series 2 USB Dongle.
How would you recommend I troubleshoot?

Seriously though, this stick has known issues - it has a habit of locking up. This might not be the issue you’re having, but I suspect it could be. I know Aeon were trying to fix it, but I suspect they’ve given up now that they’ve released the Gen5 version.
