2.5 Milestone 5 Issues

I used the mail binding for months now, but since one of the latest milestone, the attachments are not attached to the mail anymore. Did not changed anything to my config. No errors in logs…
I use the same file to send via Pushover and this is still working fine.

I opened an issue for this. See here.

thx for opening the issue.

Also the XMLTV binding started working for me, but it works strangely.
It always calculates currents to tomorrow, so for example I get -2000% for Current Progress.

Maybe @glhopital can you look at this?

Does anyone has the same issue?

did this fix itself?
I remember in the first days after M5 was released I think someone was reporting that items without a channel string were not working. I noticed your sample item above does not have a channel string. If it is a proxy item with no channel a blank string worked. If it isn’t working yet try:

Number OUTDOOR_TEMPERATURE "Outside in caps [%.1f °F]" <temperature> {channel=""}

As part of fixing some other issues, I reinstalled the other day and moved up to m5. Everything worked perfect for a day. Since then my thermostat does not work with google home. Lights work fine but the thermostat does not. It was suggested that this may be an m5 bug here:

My setup is:
Samsung xe700t1a tablet.
Hardware: intel i5 2467/4gb ram/128gb SSD ~110gb free
OS: Lubuntu 18.04
Java Runtime Environment: zulu java 8
openHAB version: 2.5 m5
installed\updated via apt

Here is a copy of my items file:

Steps I have taken so far:
adding the :Temperature tag to items that are a temp.
removing same tag
adding and removing the homekit: tag
rebooting as soon as I noticed issues and after each change to the item file
issuing a “sync my devices” command to google after every reboot.

The lighting items in the setup work fine with no errors and there is nothing in my log.
Any idea?

When reloading NGRE JSR223 Python rules, Paper UI will show stale rules (from before reloading the rules file) as well as live rules (currently active). Reloading the page triggers an update, and deletes the outdated rules.

Cant help with your thermostat issue. I looked at your items, and they seem fine. Mine look the same, and my thermostats works fine.

But maybe you can help me with the light issue I´m having… It seems to be concentrated on dimmers beeing tagged wihtin openhab items…
More info in this post:

One note… I´m on openhab 2.5M2.

Hi,

Anybody else having problems installing the new Telegram binding?

No, didn’t fix itself, but I managed to get the items back by writing out the items files again. Since then (and since a reboot), I haven’t had any issues with missing items. If it comes back I’ll try the empty channel and see if that helps. Thanks.

upgraded from M4 > M5 and now i get the following error for several grouped items

here the item definition:

Group:Switch:OR(ON, OFF) AlleLichter “Alle Lichter [(%d)]” (Status)

and here the error:

2019-11-21 18:06:00.262 [ERROR] [org.influxdb.impl.BatchProcessor ] - Batch could not be sent. Data will be lost

java.lang.RuntimeException: {“error”:“partial write: field type conflict: input field “value” on measurement “AlleLichter” is type float, already exists as type string dropped=5”}

btw Z-Wave is working fine for me !
thanks
Thomas

I’m using the Davis1 Binding (org.openhab.binding.davis). It got installed correctly but didn’t acitivate itself. I had to manually install

feature:install openhab-transport-serial

now Davis1 works fine. This just for Information

My setup is:
OS: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
Hardware:Intel i5, 8gb ram, 15TB Disks
Java Runtime: Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_131-b11)
openHab: 2.5 m5
installed via apt
ZWave-USB Dongle: Aeotec Zwave Gen5

Disk an Memoy is checked an ok

I still get the restart of my zwave-controller every two minutes, after about 10minutes, CPU Usage is very high so I’ve to stop using zwave.

Here a debug-log:

What could create this behaviour? With 2.5 m4 it ran smooth.
Thanks for any help

Do you really have a node with ID 255? You may have a zombie node defined on the controller but not actually existing. @sihui or @chris would know better how to troubleshoot.

That usually is the controller.

OK, my controller has always been node 1.

In the debug logs it shows up as 255, don’t ask me why :grinning:

That’s only part of the story. The controller commands are always logged as node 255 - you will not see any commands being sent to node 1 as the controller doesn’t actually handle commands in this way…

Each Z-wave data packet in the network is identified by its Home-ID and the Node-IDs of Source and Destination.
The remaining fields, with exception of Data, are used to manage the packet itself and to control the flow of packets in the network.

There are three patterns of communication available:
Singlecast, Broadcast and Multicast.

In the singlecast communication the data frame is transmitted from the source node to one destination node.

In the broadcast communication the same data frame is transmitted from the source node to all nodes in the network. The frame structure is the same as for the singlecast communication, but the Node-ID Destination field equals to 255, which is reserved for the broadcast communication.

In the multicast communication the data frame is
transmitted from the source node to a set of nodes.

But what you think creates the crash? which logs/debugs you need?
